The Kansas City Symphony, led by Music Director Michael Stern, will perform patriotic favorites with Union Station serving as a backdrop. Pre-concert activities, food and family fun begin at 1pm. The Symphony takes the stage at 8 pm.
2015 SPECIAL GUESTS:

PRE-CONCERT ACTIVITIES, FOOD & FAMILY FUN:
Grounds open at 1pm. Food and beverages will be available for purchase both inside and outside of Union Station, including from many of the area’s most popular food trucks. Come early to visit the American Veterans Traveling Tribute Vietnam Wall, an 80-percent scale replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C., measuring nearly 400 feet long. The Vietnam Traveling Wall will be accessible to the public 24 hours per day (including after Bank of America Celebration at the Station) from Friday evening through Monday afternoon at the National WWI Museum and Memorial. Union Station will also be debuting our blockbuster new exhibition, Gridiron Glory: The Best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Various bands will entertain on the main stage throughout the afternoon, and many family-friendly activities are planned within Celebration Family Zone, a new child-friendly area in front of Union Station.
CONCERT and FIREWORKS:
The Symphony takes the stage at 8pm for a rousing set of orchestral music to celebrate all things American, including The Stars and Stripes Forever, Armed Forces Salute and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, complete with live firing cannons! At 9:45pm all heads will turn skyward over the National WWI Museum at Liberty Memorial for a stunning display of choreographed fireworks, bursting to the beat of patriotic music. This fireworks display is one of the largest staged in the Midwest.
