Join us on Sunday, August 3rd from 3-7pm at Missie B's, for our Closing Ceremonies. This is the last of the mandatory events for the year, for teams wanting money from HASL for the GSWS.
The Closing Ceremonies consists of giving out TEAM and INDIVIDUAL Player Awards. We also reveal our inductees for the Class of 2014 going into the HASL Hall of Fame! We also conduct some official business in electing vacating Board positions. Open Board Positions - The following Board positions are up for election this year: Assistant Commissioner - Open; Secretary; Fundraising/Activities Coordinator; and Membership Coordinator - Women's.
The Agenda for Closing Ceremonies is as follows:
**3pm-7pm Sign in for those participating in Mandatory Fundraiser ($5)
There is also a Beer/Soda Bust available for $9 during our event.
**4pm-Introduction of Board Members and introduction of candidates running for Open Board Positions. At this time each candidate will be given a chance to address the members. Following the speeches each team will be called to vote alphabetically.
**5pm Introduce the 2014 HASL HOF Inductees
Presentation of Team Awards followed by
Individual Player Awards/Coaches Awards
**6pm-Election Results
Open Board Positions - The following Board positions are up for election this year: Assistant Commissioner - Open; Secretary; Fundraising/Activities Coordinator; and Membership Coordinator - Women's. Qualifications for and duties of the positions can be found in Sections 4.04, 4.05, 4.08, 4.09, and 9.01 of the HASL By-laws available under the Documents tab on the HASL website (http://haslkc.com). All individuals running for any one of the four positions must be a current member of the league. Any individual running for the Assistant Commissioner - Open position must also have been a member of HASL or any other NAGAAA or ASANA member association for at least three (3) years and have previously served on the HASL Board or as a HASL Board Committee Chairperson. If you are interested in running for any of these open positions, please contact a member of the Board.
Proxy Voting - Although we strongly encourage everyone to attend Closing Ceremonies so that they may vote in person for the Open Board positions, we understand that is not always possible. As a result, members who cannot attend have the option to vote by proxy (i.e., sending another HASL member to vote in your place). In order to be eligible to do so, you must stop by the Board table one of the next two Sundays and sign your name to your team roster (you may do so in conjunction with voting for player awards). We will also have proxy forms (which allow you to designate the specific member who will be voting as your proxy) available for you to take at that time, and those will also be available under the Documents tab on the HASL website (http://haslkc.com). If you intend to vote by proxy, you MUST both sign your name to the roster and fill out the proxy form (also with your signature) to send with the person voting for you. Those signatures will be compared at the election registration table to confirm that the proxy is valid. If you have any questions about this process, please ask a Board Member at the fields or feel free to e-mail the Board Secretary, Amy Fowler, at fowler94@yahoo.com.
