Basically The Closet

I went here tonight. Straight boy called me "brother." I'm a full-time transvestite. Didn't like the "brother" comment, naturally, and told him off. So he proceeded to harass me the entire evening, touching me, trying to buddy up with me, and redeem his position of the superior, unquestionable straight man. And, much to my surprise, the bartenders were on his side. Despite consistently telling him to leave me alone the bartenders encouraged interaction with me, and when they couldn't get that, they participated in mean comments about me. If you want to go back in the closet, this is the place for you: straight people rule and queers are up for sale. Enjoy being an object when you go here.

Very friendly crowd

I'm from out of town and stopped in to Sidekicks. They are very friendly, don't let the name fool you. They do not sell food here. So the grill is out. They do recommend places around to eat.

If you're looking for a full serving of bitchiness

Went with a group of friends. The bar, physically, wasn't bad. It's just the nasty attitude of the staff and some of the regulars that put me off. They're rude. Unfriendly. Gossipy. Just not the sort of place that is welcoming to anybody who hasn't been a customer for ten or more years. Considering the limited space and hostile and/or groping clientele (yes, my friends and I were felt up by the regulars, as if we were just meat for their pleasure and met with hostility when we turned down their advances...and the staff called us rude and stuck up!) you would at least think they would have reasonably priced drinks...NOT. Never going back.

Use to be my favorite bar

The bartender was great. It was too filled with women. I even was pushed off the dance floor by them. It is just one more bar that the owner has ruined.
